Listening
to business
In recent months Nanette Milne has accompanied
MSP Alex Johnstone and MEP’s John Purvis and Struan
Stevenson on a series of fact-finding visits to businesses
across Gordon.
Nanette said: “I have spoken to business people in
Huntly, Keith, Ellon, Newburgh, Inverurie, Kintore and Insch,
and they all share similar concerns
– too much red tape / uncompetitive business rates
/ lack of skilled labour / high transportation costs due
to high fuel tax, compounded by difficulties in getting
goods through Aberdeen, because of congested city centre
streets and the absence of a bypass.”
All these concerns are shared by Scottish Tories, and we
will address
them all, from restoring the Uniform Business Rate to building
the WPR around Aberdeen.
